Christmas Kick-Off & Window Decorating Contest
Mark your calendars! Christmas Kick-Off returns on Friday, November 21 from 5–8 pm. Join us for an evening filled with live music, festive vendors, and the official start of the holiday season in Downtown Duncan.
Vendor applications are now open! We’re also looking for volunteers to help with chestnut roasting, décor set-up, and other hands-on support—if you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!
And don’t forget our annual Christmas Window Decorating Contest. This year’s theme is Christmas Songs & Carols. The voting period will start at the Christmas Kick-Off event, so participating businesses will need to:

Display a QR code in your window so locals can easily vote for their favourite display
It’s a wonderful way to showcase your business, spread holiday cheer, and take part in a beloved downtown tradition.
Join the Downtown Duncan BIA Board of Directors!
We’re looking for engaged and enthusiastic members to join the Downtown Duncan BIA Board of Directors!Board commitments are minimal — just 11 monthly meetings per year held at the DDBIA office. Experience serving on a board that uses Robert’s Rules of Order is considered an asset.
There are also a number of committees you can choose to participate in, depending on your interests. Committee meetings vary in frequency and may occur monthly, quarterly, or bi-annually, depending on the committee’s focus.
As an added incentive, sitting Board members receive 25% off any of our co-advertising programs.
This is a great opportunity to help shape the direction of the DDBIA and have your voice heard on decisions that impact Downtown Duncan.

Downtown Trick-or-Treating – How to Participate
This Halloween, we’re inviting families downtown for a safe and fun morning of trick-or-treating! Participating businesses will hand out candy to children in costume between 10 am and 12 pm.
If you’d like to join in, simply let us know and we’ll provide you with a pumpkin poster for your window. The poster lets families know you’re handing out treats.
It’s a great way to bring people through your doors, connect with the community, and be part of the downtown Halloween fun!

A social media graphic is also available for download so you can promote the event on your own channels—don’t forget to tag the DDBIA so we can amplify your post!
