Celebrate 100 Years with Duncan United Church – June 10, 2025

Duncan United Church is marking an incredible milestone this year — 100 years of the United Church of Canada!

Even more impressively, the local congregation (originally Alderlea Methodist Church) has been a part of our

community since 1891.

As long-time neighbours at the corner of Ingram and Jubilee Streets, the church has invited all members of the downtown community to join them in celebration.

Date: Tuesday, June 10, 2025

Time: 7:00 PM

Location: Duncan United Church (Ingram & Jubilee)

The evening will begin with the ringing of the church bell 100 times, followed by a special vesper service featuring a blend of evening, traditional, and contemporary hymns, along with prayer, thanksgiving, and community reflection.

A time of hospitality and refreshments will follow. Let’s come together to celebrate a century of worship, connection, and community. All are welcome!

WorkBC and Chamber Mix and Mingle

Join us for an evening of connection and community at the Chamber Mix & Mingle hosted by WorkBC Centre Duncan!

The First Annual Duncan Rotary Garden Tour

For the last 25 years, the Cowichan Family Life Association has run an annual fundraising Garden Tour event.  Last year, CFLA approached the Rotary Club of Duncan to ask whether we could take over the Garden Tour  The Club took on the challenge and will host our first annual Duncan Rotary Garden Tour on Sunday, June 1.

In its previous format, the popular fundraiser attracted hundreds of attendees who enjoyed visiting some of the most spectacular gardens in the Valley. Rotary is hoping for more of the same.  Six local garden owners have generously opened their gardens for the public to tour this year.  From rhodos to roses and rare flowers and trees, the tour is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together to appreciate the beauty of nature while raising funds for many local community projects and to assist local not-for-profit organizations.

Tickets are $25 each and come with a map of the garden locations.  Tickets are available for sale at the Duncan Buckerfield’s Supply Store and Volume One Bookstore, The Third Addition Gifts & Toys in Mill Bay, and Valley Roots Farm Market Garden Centre, and Sandpiper Gardens & Glass in Chemainus.
