Duncan Day – Call for Retailers to Participate on the Street

ree

Duncan Day is coming up on July 15th, and we would like to extend an invitation for your store to participate.

Duncan Day is an excellent opportunity to showcase your business and engage with the local community. We are looking for retailers who would be interested in engaging in street sales on the day of the event. This would involve setting up a display outside of your store and offering special promotions or discounts to attract customers.

If you are interested in participating in Duncan Day, we would be happy to provide you with more information on how to get involved. Please reply to this email and let us know if you are interested in being a part of this exciting event.

A Day for Earth

On behalf of the Downtown Duncan BIA, I wanted to express my sincerest thanks to all of our volunteers for your invaluable contributions in making Earth Day in downtown Duncan a great success. Your hard work and dedication made a significant impact on our community, and we are incredibly grateful for your efforts. Thank you again to the students of Brentwood School, Queen Margaret School, members of the Green Party and our individual volunteers [Esme and Oliver, Jonna and Bowie, Jim and Aiden] for your time and commitment to this important cause.

I wanted to take a moment to highlight the incredible success of the Redefined Clothing Boutique sponsored clothing swap tent at Earth Day. Thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication, we were able to raise nearly $200 for HATs and facilitate the swapping of hundreds of items, reducing waste and promoting sustainability in our community.

A final shoutout goes to the volunteers who worked tirelessly to run the kid’s activities tents. Children made seed bombs, sewed bags, worked on fabric weaving for a community art project and painted bee homes among other earth themed activities.

JUNE 25 Pride Day Window Decorating Contest

ree

The DDIBA is co-sponsoring Pride Day in downtown Duncan this year on June 25th.  There will be a parade.  There will be singing.  And dancing.  And drag.  And celebrations and speakers.  Show your support by:

·      STAYING OPEN on Sunday and get your sidewalk selling for you!

·      Decorating your window with Pride Day visuals and participate in the Window Contest!  We’ll give you a QR code for your window so your shoppers can “vote” for the most creative, best, and celebratory Pride Window ever!

Please respond to this email and let us know if you are planning to participate in the PRIDE WINDOW CONTEST so we can be sure to let the Pride Committee and judges know!

·      Make a donation for a “We support Cowichan Valley Pride” decal for your business window or door.  This donation will help the Cowichan Valley Pride festival continue to grow every year.  SALES begin at the beginning May 10th!
