DUNCAN, BC – November 12, 2025 – Downtown Duncan is kicking off the holiday season with its annual Christmas Kick-Off (CKO) on Friday, November 21 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in City Square and Friendship Square. Families and friends are invited to enjoy an evening of festive fun, live entertainment, and community spirit, proudly sponsored by Coast Capital Savings.

Visitors can enjoy:
Live music; Santa’s got his sleigh — we’ve got Andrew Allsgood on the decks and performances by Mary Egan and Malakai
Free roasted chestnuts to keep warm while strolling downtown
Visits with Santa, perfect for family photos and holiday cheer
Interactive live art with a paint-by-numbers mural on Craig Street, where attendees can contribute to a collaborative masterpiece
The Cowichan Public Art Gallery open with refreshments in their courtyard
The evening also marks the start of the annual Window Decorating Contest, with beautifully decorated storefronts ready for the season. Public voting for the contest opens on November 21 and continues until December 18 - a fun way for the community to get involved and celebrate local creativity.
While fireworks will not be part of this year’s festivities due to insurance restrictions over urban areas, the evening promises plenty of sights, sounds, and seasonal surprises for everyone.
“The Christmas Kick-Off is all about celebrating our downtown and bringing the community together,” said Dina Stuehler, President of the Downtown Duncan Business Improvement Area. “With live music, festive treats, hands-on art, and the launch of our window decorating contest, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’re thrilled to have Coast Capital Savings supporting this special evening.”
The event is free and open to all. Come early, enjoy the activities, and soak up the holiday spirit in the heart of downtown Duncan.
