'To support our membership community by providing diverse resources while promoting downtown business through progressive leadership'
What is a BIA (Business Improvement Area)?
The purpose of a BIA is to undertake programs and initiatives for:
Beautification & Aesthetic Improvement
Local Business & Event Promotion
Established in 1997, the Downtown Duncan BIA (DDBIA) is a non-profit organization under the direction of an elected volunteer Board of Directors. Every business within the defined boundary is automatically a member. Funding is collected through a special levy enacted through a municipal property tax bylaw. The cost of the levy contributed is based on each property's commercial assessment as determined by the BC Assessment Authority.
